VISUAL is a highly configurable system.  There are literally hundreds of behind-the-scenes settings that control the way windows look, behave, and process your business information.  These settings are mostly controlled by a file called visual.ini.  Since some settings can be global and others are for specific users, this file resides both on the server and on each workstation. Making sure that each file is properly configured is critical to a stable installation.  Moreover, a lack of knowledge of these settings can prevent desirable features from being used by your company.  These files can be manually edited, however the spelling, syntax, and formatting must be exact for the file to be read successfully by the various VISUAL applications.  V-INI Editor is a simple utility that allows systems people to alter visual.ini in a graphical way by using configuration wizards.

Benefits

• Avoid frustration with errors in capitalization, spacing, spelling, etc.
• Easy to browse through each configuration wizard to see which features may be desirable for your company
• No need to reference outside materials to figure out common settings

Limitations

Not every setting is included with V-INI Editor, many control things like display persistence are maintained within VISUAL itself.  These are best not edited in this manner.
