Profile of Mike Haase, Operations Manager
Mike has many years experience in managing, motivating, and teaching. He brings strong organizational and excellent communication skills to The Virant Group projects, services, and clients.
Mike earned his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Bethel University in Saint Paul, Minnesota and his Master’s degree from Saint Mary’s University in Winona, Minnesota. During his college years, Mike performed on trumpet and organ throughout the United States, Sweden, and Norway. In addition, to complete his Master’s degree, Mike wrote two intense music theory workbooks still used in many schools today.
Mike was a Music Educator for eleven years. During his tenure, his ensembles won numerous awards throughout Minnesota and central United States.
Mike made a career change when he was hired as a Sales Manager for an independent security company. For several years he worked with a broad range of clients including Fortune 1000 Companies to provide security solutions and unprecedented systems to meet specific needs in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
In 2003 Mike was recruited by Best Rate Mortgage Company. He began as a Loan Officer and in his third month had over 35 active loans in his pipeline. He consistently maintained this pipeline month after month. Eventually he was recruited by Minnesota Mortgage Financial Corporation. After only five months as a Mortgage Consultant he was promoted to Branch Manager. In 2005 American Bank of Saint Paul purchased Minnesota Mortgage Financial Corporation and changed the name to American Mortgage Financial Group. Mike again received a promotion to Area Manager. In this position he oversaw all branches of American Mortgage. Mike established and implemented processes and procedures to insure quality control and consistent production. He wrote the employee handbook, hired and trained very qualified, high-producing loans officers, designed and maintained the company website, created and produced marketing materials, and instilled a positive atmosphere in a very competitive, volatile industry and market. In 2006 Mike assisted in closing over $45 million in loans.
Mike joined The Virant Group in August 2007. He is the Operations Manager. His primary responsibilities are to manage the day-to-day operations, manage new product development, and enhance product sales.
In his spare time Mike continues with his love for music as the Minister of Music at a large church in South Minneapolis.
